NEF residency award from Black Sea Animation Workshop’24

In April 2025 the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud welcomed 10 artists from around the world, one of whom was the winner of the NEF residency award from Black Sea Animation Workshop’24 - Lina Kalcheva with ‘Members Only’.

NEF Animation supports the writing and the creative research in the field of animated film by developing artist residency programs that encourage international mobility.

The Residency allows animation authors to immerse themselves one month into their work without caring about material constraints in a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere and enable them to meet and exchange with other artists in residency. Since its creation, the residency has already welcomed 240 animation filmmakers and artists from 50 different countries.

Our partners from NEF Аnimation gave the opportunity to Lina Kalcheva to further develop the script, the storyboard and the music for her new film ‘Members Only’.
