BALCONADA at Ottawa International Animation Festival

Compote Collective participates in the official selection of the Ottawa International Animation Festival - OIAF (September 24–28, 2025), Ontario, Canada, with the debut animated film BALCONADA by Iva Tokmakchieva. The film is selected as one of eight short films in the Teen Audiences 13+ Competition.

Since 1976, OIAF has been an annual five-day event that brings together the art and industry of animation in a dynamic hub, attracting artists, producers, students, and animation fans from around the world. Today, the festival is recognized as one of the largest and most important animation film festivals globally and is listed among the Category “A” festivals for animated films.

BALCONADA is produced by Compote Collective with the support of Bulgarian National Film Center and Bulgarian National Fund “Culture” in co-production with Girelle Production with the participation of BIPTV as part of the Objectives and Means Contract of the Centre-Val de Loire Region, coordinated by Ciclic Pictanovo, images in Hauts-de-France with the support of the Hauts-de-France Region with the participation of the CNC with the support of SACEM in association with Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire Region. The film is distributed by Pentacle distribution.
