BALCONADA receives Best Bulgarian Debut and Special Mention at WFAF

Each year, The World Festival of Animated Film - Varna presents a selection of the best short and feature-length animated films, as well as experimental and independent productions, children's programs, and thematic retrospectives.

At this year's edition of WFAF, the Best Bulgarian Debut Film Award in memory of Nikolay Todorov was awarded by the Bulgarian Critics Guild and the 'Nikolay Todorov' Foundation to BALCONADA.

This year’s jury, consisting of - film director Paul Driessen, animation filmmaker Veronica Solomon, filmmaker and teacher Wilson Lazaretti, performer and sound designer Andrea Martignoni and filmmaker Stefan Voyvodov has also awarded BALCONADA a Special Mention in the Short Film category.

The film is produced by Compote Collective with the support of Bulgarian National Film Center and Bulgarian National Fund “Culture” in co-production with Girelle Production with the participation of BIPTV as part of the Objectives and Means Contract of the Centre-Val de Loire Region, coordinated by Ciclic Pictanovo, images in Hauts-de-France with the support of the Hauts-de-France Region with the participation of the CNC with the support of SACEM in association with Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire Region. The film is distributed by Pentacle distribution.
